Our FAQs answer the most common questions about selecting natural stone, securing slabs, storage, collection and working with Rex Marble.
What types of stone do you supply?
We currently supply a curated range of marble, quartzite, dolomite, travertine and porcelain slabs. Our collection is suited to kitchen benchtops, bathrooms, feature walls, fireplaces, flooring and other interior spaces.
Our granite and onyx collections are coming soon.
Can I view the full slabs before making a decision?
Yes. We encourage you to visit our Alexandria showroom and view the full slabs in person. Every natural stone slab is unique, and seeing the complete slab allows you to appreciate its colour, veining and movement before making your selection.
Do you supply and install stone?
We supply premium slabs only. We do not fabricate or install stone, however we can recommend experienced stonemasons who can assist with measuring, fabrication and installation.
How much does natural stone cost?
Pricing varies depending on the material, availability, slab size, thickness and finish. Once you have selected a stone you love, we can provide an accurate quote based on your requirements. All prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST unless stated otherwise.
How do I secure my selected slabs?
A 50% non refundable deposit is required to secure your selected slabs. Your material is allocated once the deposit has been received. The remaining balance must be paid in full within three weeks of the deposit date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
When can my slabs be collected or delivered?
Slabs can only be collected or delivered once the full balance has been paid and cleared funds have been received. Before collection or delivery, please check the slab numbers, quantity and visible condition of your material.
Do you offer storage?
We provide three months of complimentary storage from the date your slabs are allocated. After this period, storage is charged at $10 per slab, per week, plus GST.
Once slabs have been allocated, responsibility for the material passes to the purchaser, including while it remains in storage with us.
What should I check before fabrication begins?
We recommend that you and your nominated stonemason inspect and approve the selected slabs before fabrication. This includes the slab numbers, colour, veining, finish, vein direction, layout and bookmatching where applicable.
Once fabrication has commenced, the material is considered accepted.
Will the stone look exactly like the sample or photograph?
Natural stone is a product of nature, so every slab is unique. Variations in colour, veining, movement, texture, mineral deposits, resin filled areas, fissures and pitting are natural characteristics of the material and are not defects.
Photographs, samples and display pieces are a guide only and may not exactly represent the slabs supplied.
Can I place slabs on hold?
We may be able to place material on hold temporarily. However, slabs are only secured once the required deposit has been received. Material held without a deposit may be released or sold without notice.
Can I return or cancel my order?
Deposits are non refundable. Once slabs have been collected or dispatched, all sales are final. If we agree to accept a return, a 30% restocking fee will apply and the slabs must be returned in their original condition.
Do you offer trade pricing?
Yes. We work closely with designers, architects, builders and stonemasons. Trade professionals can apply for a Rex Marble trade account to access trade pricing.
Can you help me choose the right stone?
Absolutely. Our team will guide you through materials, finishes and colours, helping you find a stone that works beautifully within your space, budget and project vision.
